Shirenewton and Mynydd Bach Light Extravaganza needs your support!

What’s this all about?

A really fun, creative project that anyone can get involved in. For one weekend Shirenewton and Mynydd Bach will be transformed into an outdoor gallery where windows become works of art. We’d like as many people as possible to decorate their windows to make the impact as dramatic and fun as possible. It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together and the best thing is that you don’t need to be an artist to get involved – all you need is a window and a willingness to join in! It’s free to take part in and free to walk around. To make it happen we need lots of people to join in. You can do whatever you want, from a candle in the window, to a band in your living room or a cut out silhouette, simple to spectacular- it’s completely up to you, anything goes! We’re planning to use the village hall as a focal point for people to gather, have a hot drink, pick up a free map and chat about what they’ve seen.

When is it happening? At dusk on the evenings of 13 th and 14 th October.

How can I get involved?

If you’d like to decorate your windows, that’s brilliant. So that we can include you on our map, please follow this link and complete the very simple form: https://goo.gl/forms/KxebEHT5QHb9HgTB3 If you’d like to decorate a window, but where you live isn’t suitable that’s fine.

Perhaps you’d like to make a display in one of the public windows in the village?

We’d love to hear from you; email us at shirenewtonshamble@gmail.com We’re also hoping to have some community crafting sessions in September and October where there will be materials to use, some crafty inspiration and a chance to meet others who are creating displays.

For more info, drop us an email or keep an eye on the website www.shirenewtonshamble.blogspot.com Or just come along on the 13th and 14th to meet your neighbours and bring your friends!
